It is expected that once the residents obtain a Pupil Personnel Services-School Counseling
credential, the grantee will hire residents as school counselors of record in accordance with
the local need outlined in the approved application.

In response to Question #1, provide: (1) the average number of PPS credentialed school
counselors in the LEA/consortium across the last three years, (2) the average number of school
counselor vacancies across the last three years, (3) the total number of expected school
counselor vacancies across the next three years, and (4) the target number of residents
annually for the program.

2. Admission, Enrollment, and Clinical Practice Dates
Admission Date: Admission in a grant funded residency program is defined as the date when a candidate
has been formally accepted into both the IHE and the LEA school counselor residency program.
Enrollment Date: Enrollment in a grant funded residency program is defined as the date when a candidate
has been formally admitted into the LEA school counselor residency program and is registered in a required IHE course
for the school counselor residency program. The placement start date with the mentor school counselor may occur after
the formal enrollment date.
Residency Clinical Practice Start Date: Clinical Practice Enrollment in a grant funded residency program is defined
as the date when a resident has been formally assigned to a placement with a mentor school counselor. Note, the start date
of the placement with the mentor school counselor must fall on or before the first day of pupil instruction.
Residency Clinical Practice End Date: The end of the clinical practice assignment is the last date that the resident
will be working with the mentor school counselor. This date may not occur before the final day of classroom instruction.
